The Independent Order of Red Men has one of its objects the perpetuation of Indian romance and tradition."

August 22, 1911 - The fake Indians of the Red Men Order plan to protest against the very thought of Native American's joining their Native American-ish group. They want only white people, they say. (Those pesky Indians would probably complain about all the pretend burning at the stake and scalping anyways... and no one wants that fun to be ruined. Geesh.)

"To maintain lily-white institutions in this day and time speaks strongly of the mentality of the fraternal leadership.
